The Ur Project

Documenting the craft of stacking things so they remain stacked. For a very long time.

Supported hardware

Check this before you install. It's short.

CPU

The minimum CPU supported is any x86_64-v2 CPU. In general, this means that most Intel or AMD processors from the last 10 years are fully supported.

If you're not sure about yours, any recent Linux system can tell you:

$ /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 --help | grep x86-64-v2
  x86-64-v2 (supported, searched)

Booting

Both EFI and BIOS booting are supported. Secure Boot needs to be disabled in your firmware settings, or the system won't boot.

Graphics

Intel and AMD graphics drivers are fully accelerated.

For NVIDIA, only nouveau is supported. There are no proprietary NVIDIA graphics drivers at this time.
